The Urban Decay Born To Run palette is quite possibly the most versatile palette I’ve received in a long time. Whether you want a neutral look or to go all out, this palette has it all.
Whether you’re out out in Essex or living it up in Vegas, this palette will provide you with the perfect look. The theory is that you don’t need multiple palettes, that everything you need is here in this one palette.
I love this idea and recently have found myself being drawn more to palettes that give you that versatility. I have been lusting after this palette ever since I first saw it on Instagram, so when they sent it to me I was a very happy lady – there might have been a little bit of a happy dance after the courier left. I’m not sorry. For me, Urban Decay palettes are amongst my favourites, so I knew that I needed this in my life.
The packaging is gorgeous, with photos of various locations around the world and it’s nice and sturdy, so you don’t need to worry too much if you put it in your suitcase before you go off on your travels. You also get a really great quality full size mirror which is ideal. There isn’t a brush, but that’s no big deal as I’d rather have more shades to play with anyway.
The Urban Decay Born To Run palette has 21 shades and they range from neutrals, to jewel tones to brights so there’s a lot of room to play around. Now I will always be a neutral sort of girl, but the variety of the shades are so beautiful you can’t help wanting to step a little bit out of your comfort zone.
With the exception of one shade (Hell Ride, which I found to be a little bit dry), the shadows all have a gorgeous velvety texture and are nice and rich in colour and pigment. The colour payoff is great and they blend so nicely. What is also really great is that they are all universally flattering on any skin tone, so anyone can enjoy this palette.
It is a great palette to experiment with and I can’t fault the quality of it. Urban Decay rarely get it wrong – they know their stuff when it comes to palettes and shadows, so you won’t be disappointed with this. In fact I can pretty much guarantee you’ll love it as much as I do.
