Putting Pixi Tonics To The Test *

Pixi Tonics

I can be a bit of a skincare whore – with a couple of exceptions, I’m not overly loyal to any one brand and love trying new products.  However, I do love Pixi and the Pixi Tonics are amongst my go to products.

I’ve long been a fan of the original Glow Tonic, so when they sent me their Rose and Retinol Tonics, I was interested to see if I would love them as much.  Since sending me these products, Pixi have also launched some other Tonics, so I am hoping to put them to the test at some point too.  I’ve had these Tonics for quite a few weeks now and have put them through their paces to see if they match up to the Glow Tonic.

First up we have the Rose Tonic.  This is a rose hydrosol based toner designed to soothe and nourish the skin.  It is packed with nutrients and it works to neutralise the pH balance of the skin.  Impurities are gently removed and your complexion is left looking fresh and radiant.

I can sometimes be prone to a little bit of redness and I’ve found that using this has helped to minimise that thanks to the infusion of elderflower.  My skin has felt nicely toned after using the Rose Tonic without feeling tight.  I often stay away from rose based products as some that I have used in the past haven’t agreed with my skin, but I’ve had no problems with this at all.  Do I prefer it to the Glow Tonic?  No, but it is certainly a nice product and it  does leave your skin feeling nice and refreshed.

Next up we have the product that originally made me fall in love with Pixi … the Glow Tonic.  It is actually ridiculous how many bottles I have of this in various sizes, but I can never be without it.  I tend to use it at least 4 times a week and I can’t see that ever changing.

Glow Tonic is a gentle exfoliating toner that leaves the skin feeling refreshed and toned whilst looking brighter and with a healthy glow.  The formula contains 5% glycolic acid which helps to remove the dead skin cells that can leave you with a dull complexion.  It soothes and hydrates thanks to Aloe and ginseng, as well as firming and boosting radiance. There’s a reason why so many beauty bloggers rave about this stuff – it works!

Finally, we have the Retinol Tonic – this is the one that I was excited about as my skin loves retinol.  Sometimes retinol can be a bit harsh for some people, but this is a nice and gentle formula that still manages to pack a punch.  I like retinol as I am a bit obsessed with anti-aging, although it is also useful for if you suffer from uneven skin tone or acne.

Retinol Tonic promotes the renewal of the skin as well as boosting collagen production, brightening the skin tone and reducing acne.  It soothes, repairs and protects the skin thanks to Jasmine flower and fine lines and wrinkles are reduced.  I’m going to put this out there now – this is amazing!  I’m swaying towards thinking this could even be better than Glow Tonic.

You can buy the Pixi Tonics from Cult Beauty, ASOS, Boots, M&S and online.
