The Pixi Beauty Rose Essence Collection is quite possibly one of the prettiest PR parcels that I’ve ever received. Anything that comes with a cute little rose gold padlock and a key is bound to be a winner, especially with bloggers. Now, I can’t find this set on the Pixi website, so I’m guessing this is purely for PR (I could be wrong), but it contains some gorgeous products that are available to buy.
Also, there are a lot of photos in this post and I’m not sorry. However, I am sorry that the lack of decent light at the moment has resulted in some that aren’t my best but I can’t control the weather.
Once upon a time …
there was a flower so beautiful that
it became the symbol of beauty
itself. Ancient cultures worshipped
its such blossoms and distilled
its soft petals to make healing balms.
Today, we know that the miracles of
this flower go more than just skin deep.
After unlocking the adorable little padlock, the box opens up to reveal one side for Skin Treats and the other side for Lip Treats. The Skin Treats promises products for glowing skin, so that’s right up my street. You get two full-sized products: the Rose Caviar Essence and the Rose Flash Balm. Already the Pixi Beauty Rose Essence Collection is looking good.
ROSE CAVIAR ESSENCE – £26.00
I was unsure of what to expect from a serum-essence hybrid, but this is lovely. Flower oils are encapsulated in the weightless essence which then melts onto the skin. Fresh botanicals are delivered to the skin bringing hydration to the complexion whilst restoring the brightness. The formula contains antioxidant rich natural oils that soften, tone and refine the skin. After you have cleansed, you just press the essence gently onto your face, neck and décolletage and let it absorb. Keeping your face feeling hydrated can be difficult when it is so cold, but this really does work.
ROSE FLASH BALM – £26.00
I’m always looking to boost my skin’s radiance and this Flash Balm is just what I’ve been needing. My complexion can often look very dull and I’m permanently tired, so I love the thought of a balm that acts as a pick-me-up for fatigued skin. It has a 3-in-1 oil-free formula that adds instant moisture and brightness, as well as making a great revitalising mask. You can also use it as a primer. As soon as this arrived, I slapped it on my face as a mask – you just need a thick layer and leave it one for 5 minutes or so. I have also tried it as a primer and found that my skin felt soft with a nice little glow, and my foundation applied nicely over the top of it.
On the other side of the box you have the Pixi MatteLast Liquid Lipsticks. There are 5 shades and if you like your neutral shades, then you’ll like the look of these. The MatteLast lipsticks are long-wearing, comfortable and infused with rosehip oil and Vitamin E.
I’ve been really impressed with how pigmented these are and they stay on for hours – my arms still bear the remnants of the swatches! They quickly dry and set to a matte veil and they’re not that drying either. At first your lips feel nicely hydrated, although after a few hours they do start to feel a little dry but not in an uncomfortable way.
They have the Pixi Petal applicator that is possibly one of my favourite applicators. It’s nice and pointed so you can line your lips, as well as having a good shape to quickly swipe across your lips. The shades, whilst being universally flattering, apply nice and smoothly with an even application.
AU NATURELLE – rose toned nude
MATTE BEIGE – beige toned nude
PASTEL PETAL – pinky / beige nude
REALLY ROSE – rose brown
EVENING ROSE – mauve brown
Overall, I really like the products from the Pixi Rose Essence Collection and I’m more than impressed with how beautifully packaged this gift was.
