I love perfumes, and I am slowly building up quite a collection. Obviously the scent is the most important aspect, but if a fragrance happens to come in a beautiful bottle, then who am I to resist? Initially, it was the handbag-shaped bottle of Marc Jacobs Decadence that drew me in as it will look beautiful on my dressing table, and luckily, the smell is just as gorgeous.
Marc Jacobs Decadence Eau de Parfum collection is an invitation to indulge. The sensual woody scent symbolises the ultimate in feminine glamour and sophistication. Decadence elevates the irreverent spirit of Marc Jacobs fragrances to a new level of luxury with bold styling, opulent craftsmanship and a revolutionary bottle design inspired by one of Marc s iconic handbags. The fragrance instantly captivates with succulent Italian Plum, rich Bulgarian Rose and sensual Liquid Amber, to give you a signature of pure indulgence.
I love the woody scent to this and it seems to be a bit of a departure from the quirky, overly sweet scents that Marc Jacobs has released before. It takes a while to settle down, but once it does, it is beautiful. You can definitely detect the plum, but the woodiness reminds me slightly of Black Orchid, but much more wearable.
As for the bottle? Well it is beautiful. I love love love the handbag design. It is an emerald green glass bottle and the lid has a deep green python effect with a gold chain (I think the larger bottles also come with a black tassel). It is definitely dressing table worthy.
I bought the 30ml bottle as I wasn’t sure if I would like it too much. I can see it getting quite a it of wear during the winter months, as I suspect it could be a little bit too heavy for warmer weather.
