Well the Kiko Sweetheart Collection is quite possibly the most Instagrammable set of makeup I have ever received. It’s their Valentine’s range for 2019 and as soon as I opened the parcel and caught a glimpse of that packaging, I was sold. Yes, ok I know we shouldn’t go off packaging but I do … I really really do!
Designed to make you feel on top of the world, as only love can.
You’ll love it because:
* you’ll fall head over heels for these products, each and every time you use them
* your flawless look will have hearts thumping
* the irresistible textures are enriched with the sweet scent of forest fruits
I feel like brands have really upped their game this year with their Valentines ranges and the Kiko Sweetheart Collection is now up their amongst my favourites. Not only is the packaging cute AF, but the products are really lovely and, for the most part, feel like they should have a much higher price tag.
Baked highlighters and blushers always make me happy and these two are no exception. Both products are £16.90 and are the most expensive products out of the collection that I have been sent, but they are still super affordable.
The Baked Highlighter in Fall in Gold is gorgeous. As the name suggest, it is a beautiful warm gold shade that is so flattering. It contains illuminating pearls that give a beautiful radiance to the skin whilst still looking nice and natural. The Baked Blush in Just Like Coral is also really lovely, with a warm pink coral shade. Again, this gives a subtle radiance to the complexion and adds a natural flush of colour to the cheeks. Both products have a velvety texture that melts into the skin, blends easily and can be built up depending on how intense you want the coverage to be.
When I opened up the Kiko Sweetheart Eyeshadow Palette (£14.90), I immediately thought that it looked very pretty with a nice range of pink hues. However, I was left feeling a little bit underwhelmed after using it.
There are 6 shades, with 4 mattes and 2 metallics and for me, the mattes were a little bit dry but the metallics were absolutely stunning. Seriously, if they made a full palette of metallics I would be so ready for that. The mattes are still nicely pigmented, but I did find them to be a little bit patchy and not always the easiest to blend. The metallics however are a dream. They are soft, buttery and amazingly pigmented and I am beyond impressed with them. Whilst I appreciate that Kiko is an affordable brand, I’d rather the palette have a slightly higher price point and better quality mattes. The shade range is lovely though.
There are some lovely lip products in the Kiko Sweetheart Collection, including the Sweetheart Lipgloss (£6.90) and the Sweetheart Lip Pencil (£4.90). I’ve not really tried too many of Kiko’s lip goodies before so I have enjoyed playing around with these.
Whilst I’m not much of a lipgloss fan, this one is nice and lightweight and doesn’t feel overly sticky on the lips. There’s not really too much of a colour to it, but it does give a nice glittery (but not too much) effect to the lips. It leaves your lips looking glossy with a 3D effect and works well as a lip topper too. Lip pencils are a staple part of my makeup collection as I have rubbish lips and need all the help that I can get. Mine is in the shade Kiss From A Rose and considering it costs less than a fiver, I’m really impressed with it. You don’t need to worry about sharpening it, and it glides around the lip contour and across the lips. My lipstick stayed on nicely on top of it and there was no feathering. The temptation to buy every Kiko lip pencil going is quite high right now.
Finally, we have the Sweetheart lipstick (£6.90) and again mine is in the shade Kiss From A Rose. Now I can be a lipstick snob and I very rarely ever buy budget ones, but this is a lovely lipstick so maybe I need to get over myself a little bit.
With a lovely heart shaped bullet, the lipstick has on ombre effect with a darker shade around the edge and a lighter shade in the middle. Both shades complement each other nicely and blend together well to create a very pretty effect on the lip. I really like the creamy formula of the lipstick and how well it applied, although I did find that I needed to touch it up regularly (using the lip pencil underneath definitely helps with the wear time). I’ll certainly be trying more of their lipsticks as I really enjoyed using this and the shade is extremely pretty.
Are you tempted by the Kiko Sweetheart Collection this Valentine’s Day?
