Guerlain are a brand that I had never tried before until recently. I took over the World Duty Free Instagram page a couple of weeks ago and they’d sent me some goodies to try for the photos. There were quite a few bits from Guerlain and one of them was this stunning Mon Guerlain fragrance.
Mon Guerlain was launched back in March, so once again I’m a bit slow to that party. It was created by Thierry Wasser, the man behind the Angel Schlepper scents and Dior Addict. As much as I hate this phrase, the boy done good.
I do like oriental scents and this one is extremely pretty. There’s an unmistakable femininity to it and it was inspired by the ‘notes of a woman‘. Wasser wanted to create a scent that encapsulated the ‘choices, emotions and dreams that embody modern femininity‘.
What I really like is that it is feminine without being cloying or overly sweet. It is extremely wearable and inoffensive. The scent is pretty and fresh, but with a bit of spice.
Expresses the quintessence of a story replete with experiences, nourished by success, expertise and generosity, all infused with the same passion since 1828.
Carla Lavender from Provence
Samba Jasmine from India
Vanilla Tahitensis from Papa New Guinea
Album Sandalwood from Australia
Vanilla is definitely the dominant scent of the perfume, but the lavender adds a beautiful freshness to it. There is also a slight spicy element to it that adds sexiness and depth, and there are caramel undertones that are so gorgeous.
The wear time is quite good – I could still smell the fragrance after 7 hours but then I did need to have a little refresh. It is definitely a perfume that will get you compliments – it’s not in your face but it is very pretty.
I really love the bottle design – it is an updated version of the 1908 quadrilobe bottle. It is reminiscent of an old alchemist’s bottle that has been enhanced by gold adornments and luxury glass weight.
If you’re heading to an airport soon then definitely pick this up. World Duty Free are selling the 100ml bottle for just £76.70 instead of the usual £95.92 – we all love a bargain.
