When the Charlotte Tilbury The Icons Collection was delivered to my house, the excitement levels were at fever pitch. I have been drooling over it since I first saw it online and it hasn’t disappointed.
It turns out Charlotte has been a bit of a party girl in her time, living it large at Ibiza’s Ku Club. Those messy nights with rock stars, music and dancers have inspired The Icons and with the Ziggy Stardust inspired packaging, this is one effortlessly cool collection.
The Icon Palette
It’s electric star quality in a palette.Charlotte Tilbury
Well say hello to one of the prettiest palettes that I have ever seen. The Icon Palette (£55.00) contains 12 of the most gorgeous shades ever and it is a real winner.
The shadows are richly pigmented, can be used wet or dry and feel like a totally different formula from Charlotte’s other eyeshadows. This isn’t just an eyeshadow palette though as the shadows are multi-use and can be used on the cheeks and lips as well as on the eyes. I’m not brave enough to be putting a sapphire blue on my cheeks, but some of the lighter shades work beautifully as highlighters.
These shadows are velvety-smooth, and Charlotte describes them as having rich molten textures, which is the perfect description. Your brush or finger literally melts into the pans and they apply beautifully across the lids. I’ve swatched them all dry with no primer, but once you dampen your brush a little, the pigment goes from rich to intense – perfect for hitting the clubs and partying the night away.
As with the Stars In Your Eyes palette, the Icon Palette has been divided into 4 different looks – Day Eyes, Date Eyes, Diva Eyes and Disco Eyes. You can still go wild across the palette if you want to, (which is what I did), but I like having it broken down into specific looks. Sometimes I sit in front of a palette and don’t know where to start, so having the 4 looks makes it easier for those days when I don’t know what to do.

My naughtiest lip yet.Charlotte Tilbury
At first I thought the Latex Love products were liquid lipsticks, but I was wrong. They’re high shine, high pigment, hydrating glosses, but they do have a slight liquid lipstick feel to them. They’re not like normal glosses at all but they are gorgeous.
They have a lip-hugging effect and easily coat your lips with gorgeous colour and a beautiful shine. I’m really impressed by how pigmented these are – as I said, these aren’t normal glosses. I will say that there is a bit of transfer and a slight bit of bleeding, but nothing major and I can overlook that for how stunning these look on the lips.
The formula is rich and creamy, and is a world away from the Lip Lustres and the finish is silky and smooth with no real hint of stickiness. Emollient oils contribute to the glossiness and the fluidity of the formula as well as enhancing how soft your lips feel.
Considering that they are glosses, I’ve been really impressed with how well they wear. After eating and drinking, you do lose some of the shine, but the colour is still in place and I didn’t need to reapply for over 6 hours. I’m so impressed with these.
Belle du Soir – peachy pink
Cannes Tropez – coral with warm pink undertones
Berry Nude – rose pink blush
Dirty Dancer – currant red with warm brown undertones
Studio 64 – electric red
Video Vixen – deep red
Once again Charlotte has produced another stunning collection. So get your dancing shoes on, channel your inner Ziggy and become an icon in your own right.
