The Charlotte Tilbury Goddess Cleansing Ritual has landed and it will take your cleansing to the next level. You might think that I’m being a little dramatic or just saying this because it’s Tilbs and I love the Tilbs, but seriously, these are so bloody good that you need to stop reading and go order them now!
I’ve been double cleansing for the longest time, so using two cleansers is nothing new to me, but these feel like nothing I have ever used before. I’ve long been a huge fan of the Goddess Skin Clay Mask (another must buy), so I was excited to see they were adding to the Goddess range – after all, who doesn’t want goddess-like skin?
First up there is the Goddess Cleansing Ritual 1 which is a Citrus Oil Radiance Cleanser.
It feels like a mix between a gel and an oil (thanks to coconut fatty acids) and it massages beautifully into the skin. It contains Vitamin C which helps to brighten and even out the skin tone leaving your complexion looking brighter and more radiant.
It also contains Bacuri Butter, which helps to nourish and moisturise the skin, whilst improving the skin’s barrier function, thanks to it’s high potency of vitamins and minerals. The barrier function receives further protection from Inca Inchi Oil, which also improves the appearance of dryness and scaliness. Further brightening and moisturising properties come from Kalahari Watermelon Seed Oil which is naturally rich in linolenic acid as well as Vitamins A, C and E. Finally, the addition of Rose, Bergamot and Lemon essential oils help to create a fresh and delicate scent. You’re left with a feeling of calmness thanks to the Rose oil, whilst Bergamot is enlivening and Lemon oil vapour helps to relieve feelings of stress.
I’ve been using this all over my face although I do tend to avoid the eye area a little bit, but that’s purely because my eyes are super sensitive to products at the moment. I use my eye makeup remover first and then just sweep my muslin cloth across my eyes. If your eyes aren’t divas like mine, then I don’t see a problem with using this around the eye area – just don’t get it in your eyes … obviously.
The second step is the Goddess Cleansing Ritual 2.
I’m so used to my second cleanse being a cream, that using a charcoal based product has been a bit different, but I am living for this. Instead of it being like a traditional second cleanse that you wash off quickly, you almost treat this like a face mask as in you let it go hard before rinsing off. Containing Bamboo Charcoal, magnesium and calcium, it purifies and detoxes the skin.
Usually when you think of charcoal-based products, you might be forgiven for thinking that they could be a bit drying, but this isn’t the case with this at all. Humic and fulvic acids, along with bio-minerals, vitamins, amino and fatty acids help to re-establish the natural pH balance of the skin, and Nordic Beauty Peat soothes the appearance of the complexion. Finally, Vitamin B3 helps to restore the skin’s barrier function as well as reducing the appearance of pores, wrinkles and blemishes.
Massage citrus oil cleanser onto the face and around the eye area gently. Immerse the muslin cloth in warm water and apply to the face to melt off your makeup. For a magic steam-clean, press warm the muslin cloth onto the face for 20 seconds to open your pores.
Massage charcoal cleanse into wet face until it turns white, avoiding eye area. Wet the muslin cloth in warm water and wash off.
After cleansing with the Charlotte Tilbury Goddess Cleansing Ritual, I’ve been smothering my face with Charlotte’s Magic Cream and my skin has been feeling amazing. I really do have to give this 10 out of 10 and I’m going to struggle double cleansing any other way again.
Charlotte Tilbury Goddess Cleansing Ritual is available from multiple retailers and the Charlotte Tilbury website.
