I always forget that ASOS do beauty but I was having a little browse for products for a Stocking Filler Guide (coming soon), and I stumbled across the ASOS Bobbi Brown box. Now I love me some Bobbi Brown and when I saw that this box was just £15.00 I had to have it.
Obviously for that price you’re not going to be getting full-size products, but you get 6 products and it’s a great way to perhaps try out some items you’ve never used before or to stock up on some travel sized favourites. I’ve been a very good girl this year and have barely bought any makeup, but that hasn’t stopped me from drooling over the Bobbi Brown counter in Selfridges, so it’s nice to have some Bobbi back in my life.
So let’s take a little look inside the ASOS Bobbi Brown box….
EXTRA REPAIR MOISTURE CREAM
With a full size pot of this costing £68.00, this little pot enables you to get a good feel for it before splashing the cash. This is the lightweight version of Bobbi Brown’s iconic Extra Repair Moisturising Balm and it’s perfect for normal to dry skin, and especially if you don’t get on with heavy creams or you live in a humid climate.
It contains a Triple Emulsion Technology to allow it to be super moisturising whilst still being nice and light. Omega-rich sunflower oil, shea butter, Glycerin and Sodium Hyaluronate leave the skin feeling moisturised, plump and smooth.
VITAMIN ENRICHED FACE BASE
I’ve had a pot of this before and enjoyed but I didn’t love it enough to spend £44.00 on a full size jar, so I’m more than happy to have another travel size back in my life. This is a primer and moisturiser in one and is perfect for leaving your skin ready for smooth makeup application.
I like how rich it feels and there’s no greasiness thanks to it’s oil-free formula. It contains shea butter and vitamins B, C and E to add hydration as well as softening and cushioning the skin. Grapefruit and geranium fragrances leave you with a light and uplifting scent on the skin.
EXTRA ILLUMINATING MOISTURE BALM
I love anything that adds a glow and radiance to the skin and I’ve wanted to try this for ages but wasn’t sure whether it was worth £45.00, so now I can try it and then make my mind up. It’s a skin-boosting balm that adds an instant glow thanks to pearl particles, as well as leaving the skin with a burst of hydration.
The balm also has long-term skin-improving benefits that help to energise the complexion when it is tired and dull to bring back a natural radiance. You’re left with improved moisture, radiance and skin barrier strength and it’s also great at soothing the skin.
LONG-WEAR CREAM EYESHADOW IN BEACH BRONZE
This cream eyeshadow alone makes the box worthwhile. It’s full-size and worth £22.00 so it shows just how good value this box is. The colour is beautiful with a gorgeous warm bronze that is perfect for this time of year. I hadn’t tried Bobbi Brown cream shadows before and I am seriously impressed.
The creamy formula is easy to apply and dries down to a flexible veil that keeps the pigment in place so that the colour stays true and it doesn’t crease at all. I love the soft, velvet finish to the shadow and you get 12 hours wear that is water, sweat, humidity and transfer proof. I am going to be needing more of these in my life.
SMOKEY EYE MASCARA
I’ve not used a Bobbi Brown mascara in years, so this is exciting for me. The full-size is £25.00 but I have a lot of mascaras, so a mini is enough for me at the moment. The mascara is kohl-pigmented and it adds drama to your lashes by creating extremely black, stretched out lashes in an instant.
It has a nice long-wearing formula that doesn’t flake or smudge and is resistant to sweat and humidity. Volume is built lash by lash and the thicker brush base evenly combs through the lashes whilst the tapered tip grabs the hard to reach lashes. I like this a lot.
CRUSHED LIP COLOUR IN BABE
Finally, we have this gorgeous deep pinky, nude lipstick. I love the shade and I’m really impressed with the formula … think lipstick meets balm and you have the idea. Even though it’s a smaller version, it’s sill a good size and is great for just putting in your pocket before you go out.
The lipstick is loaded with crushed pigments as well as vitamins E and C and beeswax to give it that balmy formula that glides on easily. It has a satin matte finish that stays on for longer than I’d expected, and your lips feel soft and hydrated. There’s no feathering or fading either – the formula is a winner.
I think you’ll agree that for just £15.00, the ASOS Bobbi Brown box is an absolute bargain. I’m so glad I managed to pick one up as I can see this selling out fast.
