What’s more fun than finding a new website where you can buy makeup? Not much I tell you. Ok so JustMyLook isn’t new, as it’s been around since 2015, but it’s new to me.
Who Are JustMyLook?
JustMyLook are a shopping website with over 4000 products from over 150 brands. There’s a wide range of brands and if you’re into more affordable makeup, then it’s worth checking out. They contacted me and asked me if I wanted to choose a few bits and I was fairly impressed. Ok, so there were some brands that didn’t appeal to me, but I was very pleased to spot theBalm, Benefit, and Real Techniques amongst others. Also, the prices are definitely lower than I’d expected which is always a good thing.
What Did I Get?
I chose 3 items – 2 from theBalm as I’m having a real re-ignition of my love affair with them at the moment, and I also chose an item from The Ordinary as I’ve never really fallen for their hype and wanted to give them a try.
There will be individual reviews of the products coming up on the blog over the next few weeks, but I thought I would quickly show you what I chose.
theBalm Foiled Again Palette – £19.99 (RRP £32.50)
A gorgeous palette with a mixture of 12 mattes and shimmers. You can apply them wet or dry and the range of shades makes me happy on so many levels. As I’ve mentioned, there will be a more in-depth review of this palette coming up with swatches and an example of a look that you can create with it. I don’t know if I’d have necessarily ever picked this palette up (the original RRP is a bit steep), but I’m really glad I took a chance on it.
theBalm Manizer Sisters – £14.95 (RRP £24.00)
OK, so even though I already have each of the individual ‘Manizer’ compacts, I couldn’t resist having them together in one handy palette. We’re going away at Christmas and I don’t want to take a big makeup bag, so this is ideal. The pans are smaller than with the individual products, but still are still a decent enough size to get your brush into with ease.
I’ve never been on The Ordinary bandwagon, and after seeing how their owner behaves on Instagram, I doubt I ever will be. In the interest of being very honest and upfront, I only chose this as I had about £5 left in the budget I was given – I’m not one to totally waste money lol. As a primer it does the job but I’m not a fan of how it feels on the skin. Silicone primers aren’t my favourite things and I don’t think I’d rush out to buy this, despite how low the price is.
So if you’re in a bit of a spendy mood and want to bag a bargain, head on over to JustMyLook and see what you can pick up.
