We all know that I have a problem … a palette problem. I have drawers and drawers full of them and I still keep buying more. I have a few Tarte palettes and I love them, and this little beauty is no exception. It is the limited edition Rainforest of the Sea palette and it is gorgeous – it even made it into my March Favourites.
I love the round compact with it’s purple and turquoise design, although I do find round palettes a bit of a bitch to store – they mess with the organisation but I can deal with it as it is so pretty. The palette contains 8 everyday shades in a mixture of finishes, and I defy anyone not to think that it’s pretty.
Isn’t it pretty? These shadows feel a little different to other Tarte ones that I have tried – the formula feels more dense but not in a bad way – far from it. They are beautifully creamy and velvety and apply so smoothly and evenly. They are highly pigmented and blend out perfectly – there’s a shade for every part of the eye (some of the darker shades work really well as liner), and they’re simple enough to wear day to day.
The shadows have been formulated to both hydrate and balance the lids, so you’re not left with any dryness or chalkiness – they feel lovely to wear. I tested these with and without eyeshadow primer and got great results both times – I’d say around 10 hours of wear before they started to fade a little.
SEASHELL – prink frost with warm undertones
WAVE – slate frost with cool undertones
ABYSS – dark brown satin with warm undertones
REEF – copper shimmer with warm undertones

COVE – tan satin with warm undertones
SAND – ovary satin with warm undertones
MERMAID – gold frosted sheen with warm undertones
I absolutely love this palette. I have a few more Tarte palettes still to swatch and review, so keep your eyes peeled for them.
