Montblanc Lady Emblem Elixir is a fragrance that had swept under my radar until it arrived on my doorstep the other day. I’ve never tried a Montblanc fragrance, although I have been sent some for Mick before. I’m definitely a perfume junkie and love trying new scents, so I’ve been wearing this since it arrived to get a good feel for it.
THE LADY EMBLEM ELIXIR WOMAN
Perfumery is a question of nuances, variations and subtlety.
First we met with Lady Emblem, a free and piercing woman, magnificent. For many it was love at first sight. Today we introduce her in a new light.
Her gaze is naturally the same: direct, intense, almost overwhelming. Her only jewellery is still her pink and gold diamond earrings.
Her dress is simple and chic, her hair swept up with a little rebellious twist. You can picture her preparing for a decisive encounter, or stepping up to a rostrum, expressing herself with calm and passion in equal measure.
So what has changed? Time, for sure. And perhaps her mood …
Her determination inspires respect and allegiance.
I haven’t tried the original Lady Emblem so I can’t comment on how it compares to that, but it really does remind me of Jimmy Choo Blossom. The overall scent is floral with wordy undertones and I do like it. It’s probably a bit too floral for me and a bit too rose heavy, but it is very pretty. It wears nicely on the skin and is fairly long-lasting with around 5 hours wear time before you can’t really notice it too much.
Turkish Damask Rose
Now I’m not gonna lie, the bottle is by far my favourite part. Ok, so it’s not remotely practical and I still haven’t found somewhere good to store it, but it’s flipping pretty. The design adopts the 43-faceted cut of the Montblanc diamond and is inspired by the emblematic six-valley design. The bottle is pink gold metallic and the lid has a glass flower design – it is very very pretty. It’s a cliche I know, but this is a bottle made for Instagram.
FINAL THOUGHTS ON MONTBLANC LADY EMBLEM ELIXIR
Overall this is a very pleasant fragrance – it’s probably a bit too floral for me but I can see floral fans loving this. The bottle is a showstopper and makes up for what the scent is lacking for me. I think that this would make a great Christmas present for someone – especially those who like a rose fragrance.
A 50ml bottle of Montblanc Lady Emblem Elixir Eau de Parfum costs £54.00 so it’s nice and affordable. It’s available to buy here.
