I don’t think there’s many women left in the UK who have yet to experience Liz Earle’s Cleanse & Polish – it’s on the most awarded cleansers after all. I love the stuff and have done for the last couple of years. I always have a bottle on the go and just recently I’ve started to really fall in love with the Limited Edition scents they release. I am a huge fan of Liz Earle and there’ll be a few posts coming up about her beautiful products.
We’re all familiar with this pale blue / green bottle – it’s an iconic product. This is the cleanser that changed things for my skincare – it showed me that there were nicer things than soap for cleaning my face and opened me up to a world of cleansers … I now have a drawer full of all different kinds, but this is the one I return to the most.
It has a beautiful concentrated cream formula that’s nice and rich without feeling too heavy. It removes your makeup, tackling mascara and eyeshadow as well as your base products, but it’s nice and gentle. Rinsing away using the muslin cloth (although if I do need some more exfoliation or pressure then I will use a flannel – sorry Liz!), results in clean, soft skin that looks and feels radiant thanks to the cleanser lifting away dead skin cells.
I love the original, and I am also a fan of the Rose and Lavender scent they launched – I’m a sucker for Limited Editions. I’m not a massive fan of rose scents, but with the lavender it smells good and I like to use it at bedtime.
The newest Limited Edition scent is Grapefruit and Patchouli and it smells bloody amazing. It feels more refreshing than the original cleanser thanks to the grapefruit and the patchouli and chamomile helps to soothe the skin. I love the smell of grapefruit (sadly not the taste but luckily for me this isn’t edible) and it feels so nice on the skin, whilst still being as effective at removing makeup as the classic.
As well as the grapefruit and patchouli, it also contains cocoa butter to soften the skin, rosemary extract which is an antioxidant and helps to tone the skin, and the chamomile to soothe the skin. The ingredients are all high quality and natural and it’s suitable for all skin types.
The Grapefruit and Patchouli scent costs £22.75 for 150ml and will be available to buy from 25th May from:
