Lee Stafford and his haircare range seems to be a blogger favourite. Other than his Chopstick Styler, I hadn’t tried any of it. I’d heard a lot of people rave on about the CoCo LoCo products, and now I’ve finally tried them. I was sent travel sizes of the CoCo LoCo range and have been trying them out for a couple of weeks now. The bottles are now empty, so it’s time to share my thoughts.
The CoCo LoCo range is based on the use of coconut oil, which freaks me out in a jar, but I seem to be fine with in hair products. Coconut Oil is a natural nutrient and it provides the hair with essential proteins that the hair needs for nourishment and to repair damage.
I’ve been dying my hair a lot recently and it has dried it out and it’s not looking or feeling at its best. It is definitely in need of some nourishment and TLC, so I was keen to see if Lee Stafford was the man to solve these problems.
Now I’m not going to lie, I hate washing my hair. It’s one of those chores I put off and then once I’ve done it, I wondered why I waited so long. I love having clean hair, so I want to use products that not only do the job, but smell gorgeous too. I might be allergic to coconuts when I eat them, but I do love the smell of them. I was pleased to see that these really do smell of coconut.
Whenever my hair smells of coconut, I always feel like it’s fresher somehow, although the scent did make me want to jet off to a beach somewhere. I washed my hair three times a week for 2 weeks using these products, and I do like them.
I did enjoy using the CoCo LoCo shampoo and conditioner. My hair felt cleaner and more hydrated, although I did find that it faded my red hair quite a lot. I’ve noticed that my hair felt smoother and it was shinier. I’m not going to say it changed my life – they’re just nice. Are they my favourite products I’ve ever used? No, but I would definitely use them again.
Interestingly, the product that I was really impressed with was the Sea SaLT Mud Mask. I’m so bad at ever remembering to use hair masks. However, I’ve been using this during every other wash and I really like it. Now I love putting a good mud mask on my face and my body, so why not put one on your hair?
The mask is made up of a rich mud from the Dead Sea, as well as other nutritious sea ingredients. You apply a dollop to your hair after shampooing, massage it through and leave for 5 minutes. After, you simply rinse it off and then condition your hair as normal.
Despite the richness of the mud, it doesn’t weigh your hair down at all. Your hair feels softer, more hydrated and looks in better condition too. It promises to strengthen, repair and rejuvenate your hair, and so far it seems to be doing just that.
