Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang – Guerlain’s latest lip offering certainly packs a punch. They’ve taken their Kiss Kiss lipsticks and given them a matte makeover. I’ve never tried any of their lipsticks before, so I had no expectations from these. After playing about with them for a few weeks, I am ever so slightly obsessed. Bunnies, these Kiss Kiss Matte lipsticks from Guerlain will win your heart.
KISS KISS MATTE – PACKAGING
Anything gold makes me happy. There’s something so luxe about it that speaks to my soul. The lipsticks are housed in a gold case with a cubed design and a beautiful matte finish. Designed by jeweller Herve Van der Straeten, these beauties will look nice on any dressing table.
KISS KISS MATTE – WHAT ARE THEY LIKE?
Matte lipsticks can be very hit and miss with me. Some formulas can be extremely drying on the lips (Ruby Woo I’m looking at you). Others can be a bit too creamy and not matte enough (Pixi, take a bow). However, Guerlain have got their formula just right. The lipsticks are creamy with that comfortable balm like feel on the lips without drying the lips at all.
Your lips feel hydrated and plumper thanks to a chilli derivative, precious oils such as Nigella Sativa, and hyaluronic acid. The result is smoother looking lips that have a more voluminous feel whilst feeling nicely hydrated.
KISS KISS MATTE – ARE THEY PIGMENTED THOUGH?
Not only have Guerlain got the formula spot on, they’ve nailed the pigmentation too. I’ve been extremely impressed with how pigmented the Kiss Kiss range is. The shades are bold and cover the lips easily in one swipe. I have found that they don’t stay on as long as drier mattes do, but you get a good few hours wear time. The lipsticks also have a lovely vanilla-violet scent with a hint of berries that is really pleasant.
