Jo Malone Star Magnolia

Hello Bunnies!

So I totally need to apologise for the lack of posts this week – on Monday night I fractured my right elbow and it has caused severe pain all down my right arm and I am right-handed, so typing is slow and painful – please bear with me over the next few weeks.

Anyway, we all know that I love Jo Malone and when I saw that she had released a new limited edition scent, I had to get it.  I picked up Star Magnolia from the Covent Garden store a few weeks ago and I am in love.  I think I may have found my Spring / Summer scent.

Star Magnolia is described as “Flirtatious, Pristine, Gleaming” and as well as the colognes, they also launched a hair mist – I am kicking myself hard for not buying that as well.

The bottle is super pretty – it is a smoked white glass with a graduated effect (very pretty in the flesh but a bit of a bitch to photograph lol), and under the lid is a ‘flower’, which I bloody love.  It is so feminine and perfect for the dressing table.

The Nose behind the scent is Anne Flipo, who also created Basil & Neroli, as well as Lancome’s La Vie Est Belle and Chloe’s Love Story, all of which I have and love, so I had more than an inkling that I would be a fan of this.

Orange Blossom

Star Magnolia is undeniably a floral scent, but it’s not overpowering.  Instead, it is nice and light and very pretty.  The citrus notes add a gorgeous freshness to the scent and the ginger adds some beautiful depth.  As it starts to dry down, you can really pick out the woody base notes.

This is definitely a fragrance for the warmer months and I have been wearing mine a lot recently.  I’m sad that it’s a limited edition and have all my fingers crossed that they will re-release it again next Spring.

100ml – £92.00 from Jo Malone.
