When an unexpected Jo Malone parcel lands on your doorstep, it’s a good day. At first I thought that I’d finally made it onto that PR list (it’s my dream), but that bubble was quickly burst. Jo Malone sent out bottles of their new collection – Jo Malone The English Oak – to loyal customers. I think this is such a lovely thing to do and I certainly wasn’t going to cry about being sent more of their fragrances. If any of you want a post on my Jo Malone fragrance collection just let me know.
Autumn is probably my favourite time of year. From the leaves falling to the colours and the cosiness of the season, I just love it. By the time September rolls around I’m ready for the candles to be lit, hot drinks and warmer, deeper scents. I’ve enjoyed the lighter scents of Summer, but now I want my Autumn fragrances. The Jo Malone The English Oak is the perfect range for this.
There are two new scents, launching next month, and they smell beautiful. To me there’s a slight masculine hint to them, which I like. These aren’t light scents, but they are stunning.
ENGLISH OAK & REDCURRANT COLOGNE
TOP – Redcurrant
HEART – Rose
BASE – Oak
You can definitely smell the redcurrant and the rose but the oak grounds the scent, adding depth and an earthier element. Redcurrant and rose are scents I love, but they work together really beautifully. If you can’t give up your floral or fruity fragrances in the Autumn months, then you will love this.
ENGLISH OAK & HAZELNUT COLOGNE
TOP – Hazelnut
HEART – Cedar
BASE – Oak
To me, this is a much more masculine scent and I like that. It is definitely a lot earthier and woodier than the Redcurrant thanks to the Vetiver. When you combine the two fragrances together, you get an Autumn woodland in a bottle.
A 30ml bottle will be £44.00 and a 100ml bottle will be £88.00
The English Oak range will be available on Jo Malone from September.
