Jo Malone English Fields

The Jo Malone English Fields collection is here and it is a beauty.  I’ve been so excited about this launch as I am a huge Jo Malone fan.  I’ve been lucky enough to be sent one of the new colognes and I’m in love – deep, deep love.

The collection contains 5 new fragrances inspired by the fields of the English countryside.  Featuring grains, such as oat, barley, wheat and rye and flowers such as poppies and cornflowers, this collection epitomises the rural English landscape.

When I first saw the names of the new limited edition colognes, I was instantly reminded of drives with my parents on summer evenings past fields and fields of wheat.  Jo Malone are a quintessentially English brand and it is nice to see this reflected in the English Fields collection.

I was sent Primrose & Rye and from the second I smelt it, I was hooked.  With notes of primrose, mimosa, rye and vanilla, it really is a stunningly beautiful fragrance.

Now I am utterly rubbish when it comes to describing scents, but you can really pick up the primrose and mimosa.  For me, the vanilla is just a slight hint which I like as I’m not overly fond of the smell.  The various notes blend together perfectly and the result is unlike any other fragrance that I have in my collection.

The bottle is really interesting too.  Unlike other Jo Malone colognes in their transparent glass bottles, this is textured.  The top section is glossy and smooth whilst the bottom section is matte and textured.  I really like it.
