Heavy Metals is Urban Decay’s Christmas offering for 2017. They’ve kindly sent me the palette to include in my upcoming gift guide but I couldn’t resist having a little play and sharing it with you first. I love getting a good palette for Christmas and I think this one would be a gorgeous one to wake up to on Christmas morning.
Shadow mayhem in a crushed metal case.
The palette contains 20 brand new shades and if you’re a lover of metallic shadows then you’re going to love Heavy Metals.
Inject your look with a hint of glam rock for daytime or go full-on metal for a night out.
I love the packaging of this palette. The palette is housed in a metallic lavender case that has a crushed effect on one end. You then slide the palette tray out to reveal what looks like a painter’s palette. There’s a large mirror in the centre of the palette and you have your bright shades on the left and your neutrals on the right.
It’s quite fun to see an eyeshadow palette laid out this way. Ok, so it’s not the most practical but it does add a fun element to the palette that I really like.
Urban Decay have created a new formula for these shadows to ensure that the foiled effect creates their best metallics yet … and it’s worked.
Each shade is deeply pigmented with an intense metallic effect but they’re not hard to work with at all. They are so soft, velvety and creamy and they apply so easily. You don’t lose any colour payoff when you use them and they’re really easy to blend. I do think that these could be the best metallic shadows that I’ve ever used.
