Well we are into June … yes, June!! Christmas is not that far away, neither is my dreaded 35th birthday and this year seems to be going faster than ever, but Glossybox have decided to slow things down with their June box and take a more laid-back approach to things. The June box contains 6 products, yes 6 – they’ve spoilt us this month, that promise to keep our hair and skin looking effortlessly healthy.
BEAUTY PRO BLACK DIAMOND MASK – £4.95 FOR 3
I have watched so many videos of people pulling these masks off and I have cringed. We all know that feeling of pulling off a mask that feels like it is taking our entire face off at the same time, so why do we keep doing it? Because they do work – they take out those blackheads that just won’t shift, as well providing deep cleansing and oil balancing.
I am slightly apprehensive to try this, but I do suffer from blackheads, so I’m going to give it a go. However, I will be making sure that I stick purely to the nose and chin. This is going nowhere near any hair – I do not need to be dealing with any of that carnage.
BATISTE STYLIST SHIELD MY LOCKS HEAT & SHINE SPRAY – £4.49
Batiste are a brand who I am really starting to love. With our hair dryers, straighteners and tongs, we put our hair through a lot. I do worry that one day I will totally fry my hair. I always forget to use any type of protective products so I will definitely be using this.
The spray offers heat protection and also adds shine. Just spray over dry hair before styling. I like that it is quick and easy to use as I’m lazy with my hair. So now we have no excuse not to have nice hair.
111 SKIN SPACE DEFENCE BRIGHT EYE LIFT GEL – £110.00 (FOR FULL SIZE)
Sometimes, Glossybox really surprise me. I don’t tend to expect higher end brands in these boxes, so this is amazing. My bank balance wouldn’t allow me to try this at the moment, so I’m really pleased to have a little mini version to try. I’m starting to take a lot more care over the skin around my eyes, and I love testing new products.
The gel deals with dark circles, puffiness and fine lines – all of which I suffer from. Part of me is hoping that I don’t love this due to the price tag. I have a feeling that I will though. Sorry purse.
ENESS COSMETICS ARGAN OIL NOURISHING HAND CREAM – £6.50
I would be lost without hand cream at the moment. These little paws of mine are so dry, so thankyou Glossybox. I haven’t heard of this brand before, so it’s a new discovery. I am a fan of Argan Oil so I have high hopes for this. There’s also ylang ylang oil and Abyssinian oil, both of which I love.
It promises to condition nails, moisturise cuticles and leave your hands feeling soft and hydrated. I have a ridiculous amount of hand creams, but this is going by the bed.
MANNA KADAR COSMETICS SHEER GLO – £22.50
Ok, so Glossybox know how to make me tick. We all know how much I love to glow, so this is great. I love to add liquid illuminators to my foundation in Summer. The shade is pretty and it blends well, so I can see this getting a lot of use.
I have only tried a couple of products from this brand, and I like them a lot. I don’t know a woman who doesn’t want a touch of highlight in the Summer months.
SLEEK POWER PLUMP LIP CRAYON – £5.50
Sleek is one of the few highstreet brands that I do buy, so this is another great addition. I love me a nude lip, and the shade is gorgeous. It contains an ingredient to make the lips tingle, but not in a bad way. The tingling makes the blood flow to the surface, making your lips look plumper.
This applies really nicely and your lips do look a little bit fuller. I like how quick and easy it is to use, fitting in well with the laid back theme of the box.
LOUISE PENTLAND WILDE LIKE ME EXTRACT
There’s a bonus item – an extract of Louise Pentland’s new book. I hadn’t planned on buying this, so I will give this a read to see what it’s like.
The book launches on 29th June, so it’s a sneak preview for all Glossybox subscribers.
