Have I ever mentioned just how much Charlotte Tilbury? I’m not sure that I have lol. I already had two of her brushes and love them, so when Mick (he’s no longer the Boy as now everyone says that, so now he’s Mick), bought me the Complete Brush Set for my birthday, my brush dreams were made. They are beyond lovely, and after having my eye on them for the longest time, I am super happy that they are now mine.
The brushes, which are individually boxed, come in a gift box along with a complimentary makeup bag – my only slight gripe is that I already have this bag, and it would have been nicer to have a bag that matches the brushes instead, but that’s just me being a little bit fussy.
The set contains 8 brushes that have been inspired by the Artist brushes that Charlotte’s father used, and have been hand-pulled into shape by an expert European brush maker. Each brush has been designed to deliver the finest quality as well as the softest makeup application.
The crimson wooden handles with rose gold metal have been cleverly angled so that they don’t roll off your dressing table, which I love as I’m always watching brushes and products fall onto the floor.
The largest brush in the set (and retailing at £60.00 on it’s own), the Bronzer brush is ideal for use with the Sculpt shade from Filmstar Bronze & Glow, as well as for use on your décolletage and body. It is nice and big and allows for broad sweeping strokes.
This is my favourite blusher brush ever. The brush head has been cut to pick up the outer shades in the Cheek to Chic blushes, whilst the tip is ideal to pick up the centre ‘Pop’ shade. It’s so nice and soft, and applies your blush beautifully.
POWDER & SCULPT BRUSH
This is such a lovely brush to use. It is ideal for highlighting and contouring, as the tapered edge fits into the cheek hollows as well as defining the cheekbones. It’s also great for targeted powdering, such as the T-zone and nose.
This foundation brush has been cut to fit perfectly into all areas of the face. It has synthetic fibres that help to blend the foundation flawlessly, without wasting any product.
EYE BLENDER BRUSH
Ideal for softening a smoky eye, as well as priming the lids and applying a subtle wash of colour.
EYE SMUDGER BRUSH
Great for adding definition to the socket, creating a smoky eye and applying colour in a targeted area, such as along the lash line.
EYE LINER BRUSH
Works well for light, precise application of shadow along the lash line, and also for using with a pencil liner to create a smoky effect. (It also works really well with brow pomades).
LIP LINER BRUSH
If you want really precise lipstick application then this is ideal. It has a squared end so you can even get right into the corners neatly.
I absolutely love this brush set, and highly recommend it.
